Marless

Project

Client: Marless
Agency: Paolucci Marketing
Field: Marine protection
Year: 2023

The MARLESS project intends to tackle the problem of Marine Litter in the Adriatic Sea from many fronts in order to obtain visible and concrete results.

The group commissioned Paolucci Marketing to produce 3 videos, all concerning the topic of recovery and disposal of plastic waste from the Adriatic Sea. I was responsible for producing the 3 videos belonging to the project.

My tasks included:

  • Filming assistance
  • Setting and editing the audio track of the interviews
  • Creating motion graphics for titles and information regarding the various topics, as well as animations for the intro and outro of the video
  • Adding subtitles
  • Editing and processing of the complete footage

Fishing for Litter

The video concerns the collection of plastic waste from the sea in the Cesenatico area, by fishermen adhering to the project. Fishing is done using nets and any marine animals caught in this operation are released and reintroduced into the water. The plastic material caught is then sent to a disposal center to be processed.

Pyrolysis and plastic recycling

Pyrolysis is the process of thermal decomposition of materials at elevated temperatures. The video describes the various phases in which the collected plastic waste is separated by material and, through pyrolysis, processed and recycled.

Water drone for microplastics collection

This video describes the creation, by the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Bologna, of an aquatic drone designed for the collection of microplastics in the open sea.

Being able to participate in the project was extremely stimulating for me, being able to learn more about Marless, knowing its values and documenting its projects was an invaluable and incredibly satisfying experience.
